As I sit down to write this blog, I think to myself, I sure hope people follow me on Facebook and Instagram! Those are the places where you will find sneak peeks posted almost daily and all new and upcoming information about sessions & what is happening with Julie Filyaw Photography.
Being a wife, a busy photographer and Mom of two kids (who seem to have a social calendar/homework like you can only imagine), it is difficult to update my blog…it is difficult to even remember it exists sometimes! Oops! I can’t complain. It is a wonderful thing to be busy though, because to me, busy equals thriving, successful and staying current in a world of growing competition.
Summer quickly faded to fall, which lasted a total of about two weeks in South Carolina. Then, people were ready for Christmas sessions. For those who send out Christmas cards, family sessions can’t happen quickly enough once winter clothes hit the shelves! I try to always provide updated family pictures that aren’t specifically themed “Christmas” and then transition into true “Christmas” sessions. This year, I had my own tree farm. Those pictures turned out very classic and traditional. I loved the sessions! I think the clients did too!
I also did a big photography gift giveaway for the 12 days before Christmas…the contest was on Facebook and winners were chosen Christmas Day!
It is only the day after Christmas, and I am already planning Valentine Day Sessions. Dates will be announced this week. I am booking into April of 2018, and I am so excited about how nicely my calendar is booking.
Before I get back to spending time with my family for Christmas break, I leave you with the most important things I have learned in 2017…
If you don’t have your family and your health, you have nothing. 2017 has been a difficult year for me personally, most of what I do not share with my clients. But, I can tell you this has been one of my favorite quotes for a long time… (and I love quotes ;))
