Themed Mini Sessions 2023
Welcome to 2023! This blog post was written to help you understand what specifically a “themed mini session” with Julie Filyaw Photography includes in 2023. This is a lengthy read, but full of information that will hopefully answer all questions about “themed mini sessions.”
Includes:
15-20 minutes of blocked time for your session only.
Themed to a particular holiday or styled session (does not apply to ALL holiday sessions)
May be studio or outdoors.
Location, theme, props are all chosen by photographer.
Includes up to 3 siblings. If you need to add an additional sibling(s) you may, but there is a price increase.
Siblings only, unless the specific session is advertised to also include parents and/or friends. Please ask if this is an option you are interested in adding to your mini session for an additional fee.
Your session fee of $200 includes 5 edited, digital images. If you would like to upgrade the amount of images, you may add 5 more for a total of 10 edited images for an additional $150 or you may purchase the entire mini session gallery for an additional $200 (total of 20 edited, digital images). This is decided prior to session. Images are all still chosen by photographer as per your contract. Always READ your contract.
Offers an excellent opportunity to have your child meet me and be photographed if you are interested in your child(ren) modeling for the children’s clothing companies I currently work with. No, it is not necessary for your child to be photographed by me to be chosen as a model nor it is a guarantee they will be chosen, BUT the likelihood of being chosen is greatly increased if I have previous, recent experience photographing your child and know how they perform in front of the camera. The more experience they have being photographed by me, the better the chance they are chosen for upcoming opportunities. It is common sense.
Does NOT include:
Warm up time for new and/or existing clients. If your child or children may need 15 minutes or more to warm up and not cling to you or cry, you should book TWO Mini Session times. I completely understand this needed additional time, but you should book either TWO mini sessions or a full session, which has extra time built in to accommodate this need, but also costs more.
Does NOT include: Outfit changes.
Does NOT include: Location changes. One location only. Location is as advertised.
Does NOT include: More than 3 siblings, unless previous arrangements and payment are made/discussed.
Does NOT include: More than 5 edited, digital images, unless you have chosen and paid for an upgraded package prior to your session.
Does NOT include: More than two extra people accompanying the child(ren) being photographed.
Does NOT include: Session time going over your 15-20 minutes of blocked time. Themed Mini Sessions are booked back to back. Therefore, your session starts and stops on time whether your child cooperates or not. Please refer to booking two sessions if you feel this may be an issue.

I look forward to being able to include several “Themed Mini Sessions” as well as regular “Sessions” this year, but my availability will change due to my position with several commercial companies and obligations to their photography needs/requirements.
